The story of Shalford Auto Centre begins with a rich history tied to the legendary G D Brown Motorcycles, a business first established in 1926 by Graeme Douglas Brown in Godalming. Over the decades, G D Brown became synonymous with motorcycle racing and innovation, with Graeme’s name known across Brooklands for his racing achievements. The business expanded significantly, becoming the first Vespa dealership in the UK in 1951. Under the guidance of the Huber family in more recent years, G D Brown outgrew its original premises, eventually moving to a larger site in Shalford to accommodate its growing customer base and services.

In 2024, the Huber family sold the business, and the premises underwent a transformation to become Shalford Auto Centre, a new chapter in the site’s history. Shalford Auto Centre now serves the local community, offering a range of essential vehicle services, including MOT testing, car repairs, diagnostics, and servicing. The new team continues the legacy of high-quality service, focusing on customer satisfaction and modernising the facility with state-of-the-art equipment and technology to meet the needs of today's drivers.

The newly opened Shalford Auto Centre boasts over 4,000 sq. ft. of workshop space, with dedicated MOT testing for cars and light commercial vehicles, including Class 7 MOTs. The modern facilities feature cutting-edge diagnostic tools, air-conditioned workshops, and ample parking space for 30 cars, ensuring both convenience and quality for customers. With an emphasis on efficiency and professionalism, the new owners aim to deliver reliable services while honouring the site’s long-standing history as a hub for motor vehicle care.

How to Find Us

From Guildford: Head south on the A281 (Horsham Road) towards Shalford. Drive for approximately 2 miles, and once you reach Shalford village go straight across the roundabout and you'll see Shalford Auto Centre just beyond the cricket ground on your left.

From Godalming: Take the A3100 towards Guildford and at the Broadford Roundabout in Peasmarsh turn right towards Shalford. When you reach the A281 (Horsham Road) you'll need to turn left and go right around the roundabout to head South on the A281. You'll see Shalford Auto Centre just beyond the cricket ground on your left.

From Cranleigh: Take the A281 (Horsham Road) north towards Guildford and drive approximately 7 miles, passing through Bramley. You'll see Shalford Auto Centre on your right just before the junction to Godalming that will be on your left.
